Sunday SEO / Search Supplemental

It’s the start of British Summertime here today, although the sight of the rain lashing against my window you wouldn’t think so. During the night the clocks went forward meaning the start of lighter nights. And talking of starts thought I would have a go at producing my own Sunday SEO / Search Supplemental - highlighting posts that I have enjoyed for various reasons – within the community.

Right, where we off to first … well why not get immersed in a little bit of local banter in Tim Nash’s “SEO Nottinghamshire Here I Come!” where Tim runs an experiment on SEO firms advertising there services locally. Lisa Barone of Bruce Clay digs a little deeper on Tim’s post and counters in “Local Search Engine Optimization Doesn’t Exist” stating that even large international firms such as Bruce Clay still optimise for local terms and the benefits it brings.

Now I’m going to go local and tag a couple of posts from the Caledonia SEO section.

Andrew Girdwood, does a great post about “Emails that harm our Reputation” which he highlights a stateside SEO Company offering to help with his ranking positions. The email is definitely worth a read and shows quite a few persuasive marketing techniques its no wonder so many businesses bite the dangling carrot.

Next were off to Aberdeen to RedEvo where the discussion is about “No wonder people are confused about SEO!” - when clients take an interest in SEO matters and then try and relinquish their findings to the optimiser who then has to spend time explaining the correct way to go about SEO.

Back across the big pond now to Rand Fishkin’s house of SEOmoz where they published “The SEO Industry Survey Results” a must read – credit to SEOmoz for this one. AbleReach reveals a bug in StumbleUpon with “Social Media : Can Broken be Better”, Search Engine People invite Steven Bradley to talk about How To Sell “Mom and Pop” On SEO Services.

I have to laugh at the genius of DaveN as he plays Messing with Digg. I just love creative headlines and suntdubl has certainly pulled a beauty out of the bag with “15 Ways to Be a SEO Conference Douchebag”. Then there is this big list of Internet Marketing helpful tips from Conversation Marketing — something for everybody in there

There have been a stack load more interesting posts this week but the above are the ones that I enjoyed the most. I’m going to end this first ever Sunday supplement with the fantastic SEO Rapper and his latest contribution : Design Coding.
