I tend to ‘wangle my way’ out of Twitter come every Friday, it’s nothing to do with the site in general, just I can’t be bothered posting ‘Follow Friday’ lists or see them appearing in my timeline. Yep, when it comes to a Friday on Twitter, I do the ol’ drop-the-shoulder routine, start speaking out the side of my mouth, saying such things like, ‘How’s Yer Father?’ And blend quietly into the background.
However, I do appreciate my followers, and don’t want them to think of myself as some sorta ignoramus (which I’m not, I’m quite a gentle person that just gets grumpy from time-to-time), so I have devised this post, where instead of participating in the Twitter FollowFriday link orgy, I thought, come each and every Friday, I’d send them here, instead, a list of people/organisations/businesses which I give my glowing recommendation to following on Twitter.
I have broken the peeps that I follow into various categories, I’m sure there is something for everyone. This list is not final, I will be adding to it and posting its updates each and every Friday…

Please if I do follow you on Twitter and we do interact don’t be despondent if I haven’t featured you yet, It takes time to build these lists and I will feature YOU in the up-and-coming weeks.
Edward Lewis is the frightening intelligent simon cowell of seo and a Grade A pain in the arse… to some folks lol and Chris Clarkson tries to get you to buy him expensive bottles of champagne (the cheek!) when your out with him and youre like a sponge and a little drunk even though he’s minted so watch out at Think Visibility this year!
Apart from that I think I follow all of them on Twitter or Stumble (double checking now), – excellent round up Paul!
Thanks for the mention too

Edward Lewis is the ‘Simon Cowell’ of SEO … priceless, I’m sure Edward will be unhitching his trousers at just the thought, then again it would be great to hear Edward’s thoughts on all of this
I don’t think he comments on blogs :p
Edward just has Shaun, and worth the wait if you ask me
Top list of top folk there Paul. Many thanks for including me on it too, always an honour mate! Will be checking back for more of your recommendations too. ChampionSuperStarDeluxe™
@Hobo My wee @andrewburnett is dead stunt got me kicked off of Twitter’s Got Talent by Sir Edward of Lewis who didn’t take it too well :/ On the plus side, Señor Clarkson only wanted beer when it was my round hehe.
Nice seeing you again Andrew,
Thanks for the name drop, just had a lot of people suddenly following me I now know why.
No worries Shane
Good list. Be scared of Edward… very Scared…
And Naylor – def someone you should follow.
Rishil, thanks for posting on NSM
Thanks for the mention Paul, great list!
There were a couple I wasn’t following too, just fixed that
@Hobo – me? champagne? err, don’t think so unless it’s free and there’s nothing else to drink! I think you may be confused after all those Vodka & Red Bulls, I can certainly think of someone who was trying to convince you to buy champagne that night
Thanks for the mention Paul, look forward to seeing you at TV2 in September!
@Chris, I need to raid me piggy bank to be there, but I will really try
Forgot to mention, the posts on Sphinn now too: http://sphinn.com/story/120943
Cheers Kevin, much appreciated as usual
A couple of good SEO contacts I had forgotten to add to twitter, thanks for the reminder
Matt I have you on the list
“Edward Lewis is the frightening intelligent Simon Cowell of SEO and a Grade A pain in the arse to some folks lol.”
I am truly honored to be a part of this #FollowFriday fiasco! Most of you know, I don’t participate much in these. I did originally and then realized that it had become commoditized and no longer represented the value it once did.
Now, what Paul aka @NorthSouthMedia and Kenny @kennyhyder (http://kl.am/5000) are doing with these #Follow homages are cool. I tend to stay away from paying homage to any one person individually as it leaves too many others out, and they feel it too. I just let people know to check those that I Follow and even my Following. I manage both the same way. You won’t find one single o_O in my Timeline either. I BLOCK those automagically now.
“Edward Lewis is the ‘Simon Cowell’ of SEO … priceless, I’m sure Edward will be unhitching his trousers at just the thought, then again it would be great to hear Edward’s thoughts on all of this
”
I get goosebumps when I see the reference to “The Simon Cowell of SEO”. I’m going to blame WebmasterWorld and the 7 years of Moderating. Once I retired there, something got loose. I’ve been keeping a leash on the beast but every now and then he gets out. Heck, if you were to ask Jill, she’d probably tell you I was on my meds again. < Inside joke. I've never been on meds!
"My wee @andrewburnett is dead stunt got me kicked off of Twitter’s Got Talent by Sir Edward of Lewis who didn’t take it too well :/"
LMAO, you Twit! I remember that very well and ya, it didn't go over well with me eh? My heart sunk to my stomach when I saw that Tweet and then I read it. I wanted to give you one of these http://Twuna.com/BitchSlap
"Be scared of Edward… very Scared…"
Aw man! Ya'll have painted this mysterious and frightening picture of me and I'm actually a really nice fella. Ask my 9 year old daughter, she'll tell you I'm the best Daddy in the whole world. That's proof that I have a heart! She will tell you that the last thing you want to see is "The Daddy Look". Heh! My daughter knows.
No, I don't post to Blogs much either. After being banned in Akismet for who knows how many years, I just stayed away from Blogs. WebmasterWorld is my kind of place along with a few others. And of course Twitter. What a freakin timesuck!
All of you #Follow freaks have surely set a new standard for warm fuzzies.
Edward thanks for posting, I think it was your own Twitter TOS that hooked me into having just a page associated for Follows … also Gregor from Mass Media Design came up with something similar recently that also buried the idea a little deeper
Nice just added a couple of good SEO contacts I had forgotten. Simple but very effective list of fine folks there that you got! thanks.
Nice article.

Thanks for the explanation for Follow Friday… I had seen it, but the people who were doing it were just lumping a bunch of names without any explanation, so I didn’t see any value in it… I tend to ignore the tweets that just list a bunch of names but give no reason why they’re being recommended…..
